For thousands of years your body was a survival machine, built to hold every calorie. Then, in forty years, the food was re-engineered around craving. Five shifts did it.
| Shift | Then | Now | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dietary fibre | 25g a day | 16g | Fullness runs out of fuel |
| Sodium | 2,000mg | 3,167mg | Bloating and cravings you cannot place |
| Ultra-processed food | 10% of calories | 53% | Engineered so you want more |
| Added sugar | 22.5kg a year | 42.0kg | Stored as survival reserve |
| Daily calories | 2,100 kcal | 2,600+ | And you never feel full |
We call it Modern Eating
ZENSO doesn't try to change the food. It works with the body living on it.
At 25, your body hid the damage. By 35, the margin runs out.
Modern Eating affects the same five parts in everyone. A younger metabolism simply had enough margin to cover it. Each decade the margin shrinks, until it can no longer cover what was already there. After 35, the weight climbs on the same meals. Age didn't break your body. It revealed what Modern Eating already did.
Where the numbers come from
Dietary fibre: average intake 16g a day against an adequate intake of 25g for women (USDA, What We Eat In America / NHANES). Sodium: Malaysian adults average 3,167mg a day against the WHO recommendation of under 2,000mg (Malaysian Community Salt Survey 2017–2018, Ministry of Health Malaysia). Ultra-processed food: 53.0% of adult calories (National Center for Health Statistics, NHANES, Data Brief No. 536, 2025). Added sugar: Malaysian per-capita sugar availability rose from 22.5kg a year in 1963 to roughly 42 to 43kg (FAO Food Balance Sheets).
